Tris Harris is a composer and jazz pianist, drummer and saxophonist, who also professionally plays the double and fretless bass.
Tris has been playing professionally for over thirty years, was educated at the Guildhall, has a degree in music, and has privately run a very successful teaching school.
Tris has played internationally and also extensively in the UK, either solo or in various bands such as The Chevalier Brothers, the Eddie Severn Quartet and D.A.T.A. in jazz festivals that include London, Edinburgh and Brussels. His hotel piano residencies include The Savoy, Goring and Hilton, and private functions he has played at include film premiers and personal celebrations such a royal engagement party. Some of the musicians Tris has played alongside are Lol Coxhill, Anita Carmicheal and Lianne Caroll.
Tris’ interpretation of the American Song Book are internationally renowned, as well as his more modern and improvised styles. He is currently writing and composing a solo album as well as a collaboration album with an ex-student, saxophonist Sam Barnett.
